Trump says he won't declare national emergency yet, urges Congress to act

President Donald Trump says,... he will not invoke emergency powers yet to end the partial government shutdown and secure funds to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Speaking at a border security event at the White House on Friday, Trump said... he could declare a national emergency to divert necessary funds from other purposes... but added, he won't do it so fast.
He said, he'd rather see the U.S. Congress do its job... and urged Democratic Party lawmakers to come back and vote.
The U.S. federal government shut down three weeks ago,... as Trump and congressional Democrats quarreled over the funds necessary to build the border wall.
It has now become the longest shutdown in U.S. history,... beating the previous record of 21 days from the Bill Clinton administration,.
