Hydroelectric dam planned will create artificial lake on top of ancient city

A hydroelectric dam planned for the Tigris river in Turkey will soon swallow a 12,000-year-old village. Authorities are now in the midst of moving historical monuments. A new city will be built on the hill above the old one. The project began back in 2006 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019, by which time, this ancient valley will have become a huge artificial lake.
