According to a report by Uproxx, Johnny Depp won't be appearing in Disney's sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and the decision has saved the House of Mouse about 90 million dollars. Disney's chief of film production Sean Bailey said, “We want to bring in a new energy and vitality." The next Pirates film is reportedly a series-resetting reboot from Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Uproxx reports that Disney's decision was also driven by allegations against Depp for domestic violence by his then-wife Amber Heard.
