South Korea's defense minister Jeong Kyeong-doo has once again stressed that even after the eventual transfer of wartime operational control from Washington to Seoul,... U.S. troops and the ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command will remain in the country.
Jeong was speaking on a TV program last night,... where the nation's defense, foreign, and unification ministers discussed defense and foreign policy.
Jeong also said... that although the exact timing of the OPCON transfer has not yet been determined, Seoul has been preparing for the transfer for the last 10 years,... and now is the time to take steps needed to do it.
