Special holiday market festival in Seoul offers gourmet food trucks and exquisite handmade goods

Christmas may be over but the festivity continues outside of Seoul City Hall and Dongdaemun Design Plaza, two iconic landmarks in the capital Seoul,... where the city government has opened special Christmas Market festivals.
Our Oh Soo-young went to check out the festivities herself.
Let's take a look.
Amid the fairy lights inside a cozy dome resembling Santa's grotto,... it still feels like Christmas at a holiday market in Seoul.
At the Seoul Christmas Market event outside City Hall, scores of local designers are selling gifts and accessories all made by hand.
Visitors can also try a variety of foods from all over the world,... at food trucks around the market venue,... while enjoying live music.
"We came to ice skate and we didn't know they had this whole thing and it's really nice to see the markets, and especially the food trucks. I think we're going to eat something to eat after..."
"I think it's pretty weird to have this kind of festival, especially during Christmas, so it's really good to experience as a foreigner, to experience the Korean culture and to feel the diversity of Seoul."
The Seoul Christmas Markets at City Hall and Dongdaemun Design Plaza have opened as an extension of the regular Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Markets,... which foreigners voted as the best city policy for 2018.
Bamdokkaebi means "night goblin" in Korean. They are known to be playful and rather mischievous mythical creatures who enjoy singing and dancing.
"Due to the high popularity of the regular markets, we decided to open the Christmas markets from December 22nd to the 31st, as many foreigners visit Seoul during this period."
The Bamdokkaebi Night Markets usually open on Fridays and Saturdays from March to October, across six areas in Seoul, including the riverside parks at Yeouido and Banpo,... Cheonggyecheon Stream and Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
"The special Christmas market will run until December 31st. So there's still time to stop by and enjoy the delicious food and seasonal festivities.
