Melania Trump’s spokeswoman has blasted a recent critical op-ed.

Melania Trump's spokeswoman has blasted a recent op-ed by journalist and author Kate Andersen Brower, who was highly critical of the first lady.
Stephanie Grisham released her own opinion column through CNN Saturday, saying, Brower "purports to be an expert on the customs and norms of first ladies and yet has never met Melania Trump."
Brower has written three books about the White House including one on first ladies.
After calling Brower's piece a "condescending opinion," Grisham writes that "the media consistently ignores the first lady's work on behalf of the people of this country, and children in particular, in favor of more trivial matters."
Grisham then lists many of the accomplishments Melania Trump has had during her time in the White House, including hosting official events at the White House, visiting areas of the country devastated by natural disasters, speaking out about the dangers of drug abuse, and advocating for children through her "Be Best" campaign.
Grisham goes on to give several examples of Melania Trump's efforts being overshadowed by less important matters like her clothing.
The spokeswoman's rebuttal was made soon after CNN released Brower's op-ed. which starts off with "Melania Trump proved that she doesn't understand what it means to be first lady."
The author then criticizes the first lady for saying in a recent interview that opportunists and the media are her toughest challenges--not issues being faced by struggling families in America. As such, Brower claims that "Melania has clouded the profound responsibility and honor of the position with her own personal resentment."
