President Moon meets visiting Japanese lawmakers

President Moon Jae-in met with members of the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians' Union in Seoul this morning who are visiting Seoul for the union's joint meeting.
With the visiting members of parliament from Tokyo, President Moon is likely to have discussed some of the issues that have soured relations between the two countries.
These issues include the recent Korean supreme court ruling that ordered Japanese companies to pay compensation to Korean wartime forced laborers, and the dissolving of the foundation funded by Japan for Korean victims of sexual enslavement by Japan during World War Two.
The president met with 14 Japanese lawmakers, including Fukushiro Nukaga of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, the chairperson of the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians' Union.
