Suspected Strasbourg Shooter
Shot and Killed by Police Police say that Chérif Chekatt
was "shot dead" on Thursday. He was found was found hiding
in a warehouse located in
the Meinau area of the city. His identity
has not yet
been confirmed. Chekatt, 29, is suspected of
killing three people and wounding
several others in an attack near
a Christmas market in the city. Since the Tuesday attack,
a massive manhunt
has been underway. Chekatt, who has an extensive
criminal record dating back to
his youth, had thus far evaded police. Strasbourg is thought
to have the largest
concentration of jihadist
terror cells in France.
