President Trump Cancels the
Media's Annual Christmas Party The gathering was considered to be a significant perk for those
covering the White House, as well as for other reporters, anchors
and TV commentators in the
Washington, DC area. In recent years, the party grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for
print organizations. The president and First Lady Melania Trump threw the gathering last December, but only made a brief appearance. The White House says it will host other holiday-related parties this year with selected media personnel favorable to Trump.
