National Assembly to vote on 2019 budget plan Friday

South Korea's National Assembly will hold a session to vote today on the 2019 budget plan.
The ruling Democratic Party and main opposition Liberty Korea Party
reached an agreement on Thursday to settle the revised version of the
spending bill,… as well as cut the budget in areas of contention.
However, the deal was criticized by minor opposition parties as it did not include their demand to overhaul how elections are conducted.
It’s unclear whether the minor parties will participate,… as they have entered a sit-in demonstration,… with some party chairs on hunger strike.
But even without them, the ruling and main opposition parties together have enough votes to pass the budget.
However, it's unclear when exactly the vote will take place, given that details still need to be fine-tuned.
