National Assembly to vote on pending bills during plenary session on Thursday
  • 5 years ago
South Korea's National Assembly will be voting on around 200 pending bills this afternoon.
These include a revision to the road traffic act, calling for heavier penalties for those caught driving under the influence,... and a bill that seeks to prevent violence against women,... in the aftermath of the MeToo movement.
However, there's no word yet on whether the revised 2019 budget plan will be put up for a full floor vote.
Rival parties have been holding closed-door talks for the past few days, but are yet to reach a compromise.
The ruling party is aiming to strike a deal today, so they can vote on Friday.
