Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush has been celebrated with high praise at his state funeral in Washington.
For more on this and other news around the world we turn to our Ro Aram…
Aram… what sort of tributes have we been seeing….

Well Mark… all surviving U.S. presidents attended Wednesday's funeral, sharing a pew at the National Cathedral.
Among them was George W. Bush who started his eulogy with some gentle humor.

"Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro and I, and our families, thank you all for being here. I once heard it said of man that the idea is to die young as late as possible."

He also described his father as a warrior-statesman and his voice broke with emotion as he ended his eulogy…

"…….When the history books are written, they will say that George H.W. Bush was a great president of the United States, a diplomat of unmatched skill, a commander in chief of formidable accomplishment and a gentleman who executed the duties of his office with dignity and honor….. A great and noble man. The best father a son or daughter could have (crying). And in our grief, let us smile knowing that Dad is hugging Robin and holding mom's hand again."

The funeral was also attended by several world leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Jordan's King Abdullah II.
The American public also lined the streets of Washington to pay their respects.
Wednesday has also been declared a national day of mourning, with many government offices and the U.S. stock exchange closing.
George H.W. Bush will be buried in his home state of Texas, alongside his wife Barbara.
