Gautam Gambhir on Tuesday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Gambhir was a crucial thread in India's successful campaigns in the 2011 World Cup and the inaugural World Twenty20 in 2007. Gambhir was the top-scorer for India in the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup finals.Gambhir's fluent 75 paved the way for a competitive total which India narrowly defended against Pakistan in the final of the World T20.Four years later, in the 2011 World Cup finals, Gautam Gambhir was involved in a crucial 109-run stand with MS Dhoni. Gambhir was dismissed for 97 but not before he had firmly put India on the road to glory.
