Citing an email to employees from company CEO Elon Musk, automotive website Electrek reported on Friday that Tesla Inc. met its production target of 1,000 Model 3 cars per day. The car was introduced to the public in early 2016 with excited reception and repeated promises throughout 2017 that Tesla was on track to build 5,000 Model 3s per week by the end of that year.
