Trump mulls car import tariffs after GM restructuring announcement

Staying with General Motors…. President Trump continues to rail against the American carmaker for its restructuring plan.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Trump hinted that he's looking into slapping tariffs on car imports.
They come a day after he threatened to slash federal subsidies to GM - although it's unclear if he's able to so unilaterally.
The firm had announced it is closing plants in the U.S. and Canada, cutting 15 percent of its workforce and focusing more on electric cars.
The move infuriated the president as many of the job cuts would affect the Midwest - a politically crucial region where Trump had promised a boost in manufacturing.
GM is yet to comment on President Trump's latest comments.
