Sources tell Reuters that U.S. prosecutors are investigating if Hyundai and affiliate Kia vehicle recalls over engine defects were conducted properly.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, part of the U.S. Department of Justice, has reportedly launched a criminal investigation.
