Deena Riley Millecam was born in Salt Lake City to Howard and Shirley Riley. She is the oldest of five children. Her family later moved to Payson, Utah where she grew up on a fruit farm. Her appreciation to her mother and father for teaching her how to work extends to the education field later on in her life.

Upon graduating from Utah State with a Bachelor of Education in Fine Arts, she taught at Vernal Junior High. Receiving her Masters of Education through the University of Utah, she became an administrator working several positions within the Utah School District. Upon retiring, she has furthered her studies in art with many wonderful artists. Giving credit for their skills of teaching, she has appreciated all the opportunities to attend workshops.

Showing in several galleries, Deena Millecam has painted with many national and local artists.

Her love of watercolor in many different settings shows her enthusiasm for the media. Oil painting is now another learning experience as she takes classes. She would like to further her work in portraiture and figurative subjects.

She married her best friend, the late John Millecam. Deena lives in Vernal, Utah and also has a home in St. George. Seven children and nineteen grandchildren bring many adventures as she attends soccer tournaments, races, art and sewing exhibits, plays, and school activities.

Deena Millecam’s father, the late Howard Riley, has been her inspiration. She moved to St. George to take art classes and paint with him. However, he passed away shortly after she moved. And of course her devoted Mother, Shirley Roberts Riley, always sees a need for ‘one more brush stroke’ on a finished painting.
