외교부 "日 강제징용 판결 비난발언 실망 금할 수 없어"

Seoul's ministry of foreign affairs expressed deep disappointment over the Japanese Foreign Minister's remarks about the South Korean Supreme Court's decision on wartime forced labor.
Taro Kono warned two weeks ago that the ruling, ordering a Japanese firm to compensate workers for forced labor during World War Two, fundamentally undermines the legal basis of the two countries' bilateral relations.
The nation's ministry said in a statement on Thursday, it has already made clear that the way to realize democracy is by honoring the court's decision... and that the government will continue to take necessary measures.
The ministry adds that although the Japanese government's current attitude does nothing to help bilateral relations, Seoul is still determined to work with Tokyo for future-oriented relations,... and called for the Japanese government to respond in the right way.
