KITA report calls for stronger trade ties with India, ASEAN region

A report released by the Korea International Trade Association on Thursday.... has emphasized the importance of the Moon Jae-in administration's "New Southern Policy."
It advised South Korea,... an export-driven country.... to come up with strategies to diversify its trade routes and lessen Korea's trade dependence on its number one trading partner China....,especially as the ongoing trade dispute between China and the U.S. has increased risks.
The report said.... Asia's fourth largest economy should reach out to other emerging markets, citing the case of Japan... which has increased its investments in the ASEAN region since 2010.... after a dispute with China over the sovereignty of the islands known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China.
