Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ said on Monday that now-President Trump knew his assertions that Obama’s birth certificate was fake were “bad.”

Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC's 'Morning Joe,' said on Monday that now-President Trump knew his assertions that former President Obama's birth certificate was fake were "bad." "We confronted him about 'birtherism.' We said its bad, it's wrong. And he said in a low voice, 'I know it's bad, but it works,'" Brzezinski commented.
"Racism in his mind works. That's what he told us," Brzezinski further noted.
In September of 2016, Trump finally admitted that Obama was born in the U.S.
During a press conference, he said: "President Barack Obama was born in the United States. Period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again."
Meanwhile, in a 2016 speech at George Mason University, former first lady Michelle Obama shared her own thoughts on the birther issue, indirectly referencing Trump's comments over the years.
She said: "There were those who questioned, and who continue to question for the past eight years, and up to this very day, whether my husband was even born in this country."
"Well, during his time in office, I think Barack has answered those questions with the examples he set, by going high when they go low. And he's answered these questions with the progress that we've achieved together," she further noted.
