Death Toll Rises In Italy Due To Torrential Storms

Two families were killed in a house in Sicily, Italy when torrential rains and high winds caused a river to burst its banks. Reuters reports nine people were killed in a villa in Casteldaccia in the province of Palermo. A father and his daughter escaped harm because they had been out of the house shopping while a third person climbed a tree to survive. Three other people also died in Sicily in their cars when the were hit by torrents of water.
