KOSPI rises 3.53% to close at 2,096 after trade tensions ease

코스피 단숨에 2,090대 회복…상승률 약 7년 만에 최고

South Korea's benchmark index inched up on Friday... after a phone call between the leaders of the U.S. and China raised hopes of a thaw in trade tension.
The KOSPI closed at 20-96...up more than 3-point-5 percent from the previous session.
It's the sharpest daily percentage increase since December 2011.
Analysts say stocks jumped on hopes of a breakthrough in the two superpower's tariff war and on reports that the UK and EU are making progress on a Brexit deal over financial services.
Seouls tech-heavy KOSDAQ, closed at around 6-hundred-90 points...rising more than 5-percent from the previous session.
U.S. stocks also went up for a third straight session on Thursday.
