Renewed 'non-BJP unity' push; unity or posturing? | Nation at 9

Politics of democratic compulsion is how Chandrababu Naidu described his overtures to other opposition netas. It’s compulsion that’s forcing these netas to come together to form an anti Modi bloc. But despite repeated attempts at overcoming internal contradictions, there are indications that little progress has been made. Mamata Banerjee, K Chandrashekhar Rao, Chandrababu Naidu have all made efforts to build anti BJP platform. But there are problems galore, besides the personal ambition of each regional satrap there is also bickering that’s bound to happen on seat sharing. A microcosm we are already seeing in Telangana where the Mahakutami or the Mahagathbandhan has been a non starter till now and that’s the question we ask how credible an alternative does this anti Modi block provide?
