U.S. Carbon Emissions Are Falling--Because Of A Campaign Promise Trump Couldn't Keep
  • 6 years ago
Greenhouse gases emissions from the largest U.S. industrial plants fell 2.7 percent in 2017.
The Environmental Protection Agency says the drop was steeper than in 2016 when emissions fell 2%.
Coal plants are shutting, while the industry competes with natural gas and clean solar and wind power.
EPA acting administrator Andrew Wheeler credited the Trump Administration with the drop.
According to Reuters, Wheeler says it proves federal regulations aren't needed to reduce carbon emissions.
