Daily Global Carbon Dioxide Emissions Fell Due To COVID-19 Confinement Measures
  • 4 years ago
Stay-at-home orders haven’t just curbed the spread of COVID-19; it has made daily global emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) fall by 17% in early April, compared to average daily emissions in 2019, according to a study published in the journal Nature Climate Change. The significant reductions in CO2 emissions during April were the result of government policies — such as lockdowns — that were implemented in order to prevent the spread of the disease. But researchers warn that the recent falls are likely to only be temporary.Music Credit: 'Hip-Hop Beat - I Got It' by Curtis Harris
