Saudi officials must prove claims about missing journalist: Erdogan
  • 6 years ago
Turkey's president demands Saudi Arabian officials prove that journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who has been missing since last week, had left the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan claims he is personally following the case of the Saudi journalist, and said that Turkey had no documents or evidence at hand regarding the case... and has formally requested access to the Saudi consulate for a full forensic search of the premises.
Khashoggi disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate on October 2nd, and Turkish sources told Reuters news agency on Saturday.... they believed he was killed inside the building in what they described as a "premeditated murder".
A leading critic of the Saudi government, Khashoggi had been living in self-imposed exile in the United States for over a year.
