On the occasion of 150th Gandhi Jayanti, President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi reached Raj Ghat and paid floral tribute to the ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat on Tuesday. Mahatma Gandhi, born on Oct 2, 1869, remains one of the prominent faces of India’s struggle for freedom. He fought against caste system & was instrumental in abolishing practice of untouchability. He also preached non-violence & spoke about its significance.
