Firefighters Battle Fast-Growing Charlie Fire in Southern California

A wildfire that broke out on Saturday, September 22, in the Castaic area of southern California had grown to about 3,000 acres within hours.The fire, which was first reported at 2:40 pm at Charlie Canyon Road, forced road closures and could be seen as far as the San Fernando Valley.Evacuation orders were in place for some parts of San Francisquito Canyon Road, authorities said.Los Angeles County Fire Department inspector Joey Marron said that 120 firefighters three helicopters and two Super Scooper aircraft were deployed to tend the blaze.
