Boats destroyed by typhoon after ‘shelter denied’

Three boat owners say their vessels were wrecked by Typhoon Mangkhut after they were denied shelter at the Discovery Bay marina. The owners say marina staff told them all berths were full when spaces were available. Three other owners say the marina also turned their boats away. The Discovery Bay Marina Club has not responded to the South China Morning Post’s request for comment.
