The Supreme Court will resume hearing in the Bhima Koregaon case where five left leaning activists have been put under house arrest for their alleged involvement in the January 2018 violence near Pune. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra extended the date after the government said it would produce the case diary and other evidence related to the investigation on that day. The SC has also agreed to hear the submissions by the police in the case. The bench observed that the SC will go through the evidence produce and decide if there is substance in the criminal cases against the activists or that if the case is fabricated and needs to be quashed.
