No additional MERS cases reported since the most recent case
  • 6 years ago
Six days have passed since the first MERS patient was diagnosed last week... but no further cases have appeared as of Thursday.
According to the local quarantine agency,.... ten suspected cases were confirmed to be free of the virus so far.
They were discharged from hospital but remain on the quarantine agency's watchlist.
The government is looking for some 10 foreign nationals.... and monitoring others who had contact with the first patient.
The World Health Organization regards a country as free from MERS when no additional cases are reported for more than 28 days since the most recent case... twice the MERS incubation period of 14 days.
