Climate shocks 'key driver' behind rising global hunger: UN

A report by the UN says global hunger has increased during the past three years, following a decade of declines.
According to the analysis, 821 million people worldwide were undernourished in 2017 - up from 804 million in 2016.
Last year's figure is equal to about one person in every nine going hungry.
The UN report attributed the rise to climate shocks, such as droughts and floods, as well as conflict and economic slowdowns.
The authors called for coordinated global and local action so countries become more resilient to climate-related disasters.
