The first Asian-American man to run for president as a Democrat

Democrat Andrew Yang, a New York tech entrepreneur, has announced he wants to stand in the US presidential election in 2020. The 43-year-old Asian-American is the son of Taiwanese immigrants, and has only a slim shot at the presidency – especially against political heavyweights like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.
Yang’s campaign rails against the “rise of the machine” and put “humanity first”, including a more humane immigration policy and the implementation of a universal basic income of US$1,000 a month for every American adult with no strings attached.
