Cars drive through flooded Annapolis streets as river overflows

High tide combined with strong easterly winds from the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon brought flooding to the streets of Annapolis on September 9.

This video, filmed in the Maryland capital at around 7 pm, shows cars navigating through waterlogged roads as Severn River overflowed.

According to local media, a number of streets were closed off due to flooding and surrounding counties were placed under a flood watch.

Forecasts predict more rain through Monday ahead of Tropical Storm Florence, which authorities say could make landfall as a major hurricane later in the week as it moves further east.
