Police search for clues at site of Paris stabbing that left seven injured

Police continued searching for clues at the site of a knife attack in Paris that left seven people injured. The stabbing took place near a cinema on the Quai de la Loire in the 19th district in Paris late on Sunday. An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said, "We saw people on the ground, blood, we saw a man who running with a knife of about 40 centimetres (16 inches). There were women who were injured."

Authorities were trying to determine if the attacker, who was arrested, was among the injured. Le Parisien newspaper reported he was an Afghan national. Police were investigating his motives, but said that terrorism was not suspected.
