President Trump on Tuesday again went after NBC.
President Trump on Tuesday again threatened to "look at" NBC's broadcast license. "NBC FAKE NEWS, which is under intense scrutiny over their killing the Harvey Weinstein story, is now fumbling around making excuses for their probably highly unethical conduct," Trump tweeted. "I have long criticized NBC and their journalistic standards-worse than even CNN. Look at their license?" Trump made a similar suggestion in October, writing, in part, "With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!" It was pointed out at the time that "NBC the network doesn't have a 'license.' Individual stations do." Even if a number of them were to have their licenses revoked, it would have no bearing on NBC's freedom to create content.
