Trump Threatens Canada With New Tariffs While Praising Mexico In Tweet

President Trump on Friday tweeted about the status of deals with Mexico and Canada.
President Trump took to Twitter on Friday and praised Mexico over the progress of talks apparently related to NAFTA's renegotiation.
However, as Bloomberg reports, Trump added that Canada "will have to wait to re-enter the talks to modernize the three-nation trade pact -- hinting at his preference for bilateral negotiations."
"Deal with Mexico is coming along nicely," Trump tweeted. "Autoworkers and farmers must be taken care of or there will be no deal. New President of Mexico has been an absolute gentleman. Canada must wait. Their Tariffs and Trade Barriers are far too high. Will tax cars if we can't make a deal!"
Back in June, White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow stated that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "stabbed us in the back."
The comment was made a day after Trudeau said at a press event during the G-7 summit, "Canadians did not take it lightly that the United States has moved forward with significant tariffs on our steel and aluminum industry."
"Particularly, did not take lightly that it's based on a national security reason that for Canadians. . .who stood shoulder to shoulder with American soldiers in far off lands in conflicts from the First World War onwards, that it's kind of insulting," Trudeau added.
And, after threatening retaliatory tariffs, Trudeau said, "Canadians, we're polite, we're reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around."
President Trump promptly responded to Trudeau on Twitter at the time.
"PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, 'US Tariffs were kind of insulting' and he 'will not be pushed around.' Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!" Trump tweeted.
