Brazil's 200-year-old National Museum in Rio de Janeiro burned down in a massive fire on Sunday. 11,000 years’ worth of artifacts went up in flames, Gizmodo reports. The museum housed one of the largest collections in the Americas. The Rio Times believes every piece in the museum’s collection of over 20 million items could be destroyed. The collections includes South American archaeological artifacts, meteorites and fossils.
