This adorable footage shows moment RNLI crew undertook a different kind of rescue - and saved an Eagle Owl which was stuck in deep mud. When Skip Firth, a volunteer from Fleetwood RNLI, Lancs., heard there was a life in danger, he didn’t hesitate to offer help. However, what he didn’t expect was the unusual casualty was an escaped Eagle Owl. Skip was first alerted to the owl in distress, by local birdwatchers, Steven and Jane Dunstan who spotted it on Kincraig Lake, Bispham. He set off on his mission to save the stranded owl, and after several attempts, he found the large bird via its bright orange eyes, which were all that was visible.
