If you've been anywhere near social media this week, you're doubtless already aware that climbing demi-God and master of all things steep and limestoney Chris Sharma tied the knot with his long-term partner Jimena Alarcon. Uncharacteristically for climbers who usually eschew the personal affairs of professional athletes, preferring to hear more about their exploits on the rock than off it, everyone got a little over-excited. Pictures of the wedding we're re-tweeted voraciously and DPM even scoured Instagram to put together an article that would not have looked out of place on E! News. Now admittedly we're having our (wedding) cake and eating it too by covering the web's reaction to the wedding, but in our defence because Chris is involved, it is awfully good cake. For many of us who grew up in the 90s and noughties, Chris was the most important figure on the climbing scene and whether it exists or not, many of us feel a personal connection to the man who defined climbing for over a decade. It's only natural that we're happy for him, (and a little jealous of Jimena), so from all of us here at EpicTV, we wish the pair all the best.
