Huawei at IFA 2018 launched its first Amazon Alexa voice assistant-powered smart speaker, AI Cube. Huawei’s first smart speaker looks very similar to Google Home and other smart speakers but stands out from the competition with its SIM support. The additional connectivity theoretically allows the Huawei AI Cube to work regardless of whether you have broadband in your home or not. Huawei AI Cube also doubles up as your smart home hub and can support compatible connected devices. Thanks to Alexa, it can add thousands of skills, apart from just playing music or telling recipes. It will also soon allow users to make voice calls to other Alexa users. In terms of specifications, Huawei AI Cube supports LTE Cat6 speeds and comes with RJ-45 port for connectivity. Huawei hasn’t announced price and availability of AI Cube right now. There are slim chances that the device will make its way to India anytime soon.
