Golden retriever puppies found in bushes on the side of a road in Crete are safe after being taken in by a local shelter. The pups were rescued by Takis Shelter, a non-profit organization based in the Crete town of Ierapetra. The shelter is run by Theoklitos Proestakis, a former dentist, who shared videos of the puppies’ rescue and progress to its Facebook page on August 28.According to the initial post, the pups were left in the bushes for at least two days before they were taken into the shelter’s care. A second post states that the puppies are now “safe,” and that they are only 40 days old.“If we will not be nice and protect animals and nature this planet will not have a future,” the post warns. Both videos had over 20,000 views at the time of writing.
