Fahmi: We are paying today for the sins of yesterday

Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil says Pakatan Harapan is forced to review the implementation of some of its election promises mainly due to the economic situation faced by the country.

Fahmi said this when asked to comment on Harapan's official position on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), which is one of Pakatan Harapan's 100-day promises.

Sabahans and Sarawakians have long lobbied for the original version of the Federal Constitution to be restored, whereby Sabah and Sarawak are referred to as territories equal to Peninsular Malaysia.

However, this was amended in 1976 to list Sabah and Sarawak as one of 13 states in Malaysia.

In July, the cabinet agreed to the formation of a special cabinet committee on the MA63.
