Faith in job security is slowly diminishing as workers all over the nation hear about the rise of unemployment, or even at times are in the audience hearing announcements of job layoffs. Michegan’s, Henniges Automotive is no exception. Joe Buote, president of the United Steelworkers of American Local 455 said in a response after learning about Henniges Automotive’s layoff of more than 200 jobs… and had this to say. “It’s just disgusting how bad it is getting – we’re turning into a Third World country before our eyes.” Buote commented that the vehicle company had previously laid off 50 workers on August 26 and issued an additional 125 layoff notices that are to take effect Oct. 5.
