Heavy Rain Sweeps Through South Central Wisconsin

Powerful storms swept across south central Wisconsin on Tuesday, August 28, including a possible tornado. Power lines and trees were downed, flooding prompted water rescues, and at least one person was reported dead in the storms.This video shows the wind and rain at Metcalf Lake Tuesday afternoon. The uploader of this video said about 15 trees were down across her quarter-mile-long driveway, the power was out, and that she was requesting help on local Facebook groups.The possible tornado was reported just east of this area, in Fond du Lac and Green Lake Counties. At Merrimac Ferry Landing, a man drove into the lake Tuesday night believing the road continued, local media reported. A woman who was a passenger in the car escaped and swam to shore.Elsewhere, flooding prompted evacuations in La Valle and Reedsburg, and a boy was rescued after being swept away in a flooded drainage ditch in the Village of Harrison.
