South Korea's presidential office insists the inter-Korean summit set for September in Pyongyang is not affected by the Trump administration's decision to cancel Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's trip to Pyongyang
The top office's spokesperson says the summit will go ahead regardless and stressed the greater importance of holding the event.
The presidential security adviser spoke to lawmakers at the National Assembly's House Steering Committee regarding the matter as well.
Chung Eui-yong explained that though while Pompeo's trip was cancelled,... Pyongyang and Washington have displayed a will to continue dialogue,... and talks between the two sides should resume soon.
