Watch: India’s first biojet fuel flight
SpiceJet operates India’s first biojet fuel powered test flight on Monday. A Bombardier Q400 aircraft took off from Dehradun and landed in Delhi. The flight was powered with a blend of 75 percent air turbine fuel (ATF) and 25 percent biojet fuel. Biojet fuel reduces carbon emissions and enhances fuel efficiency. SpiceJet CMD Ajay Singh said biojet fuel is low cost and will help in significantly reducing carbon emissions. IATA has set a target for flying one billion passengers by 2025 on aircrafts using a mix of clean energy and fossil fuels.
