Volunteers send special Onam kits to flood-hit areas

On the auspicious occasion of Onam, locals in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram collected the relief material for flood victims. In last one month, as many as 357 people have lost their lives so far, with the state faced a loss of Rs 19,512 crore. On the other hand, nearly 2,000 volunteers are working daily to send special Onam kits to the people so that they can celebrate the festival. Rescue and relief operations in the state have been stepped up to evacuate the stranded people from the flood-affected areas.
