Report: Trump Has Considered Firing Sessions But Is 'Wary Of Crossing A Line With Mueller'

CNN reports that President Trump is "wary of crossing a line" with special counsel Robert Mueller by firing Jeff Sessions.
President Trump has reportedly considered firing his attorney general Jeff Sessions, but he is said to be "wary of crossing a line" with special counsel Robert Mueller.
"Over the past year and a half, and as recently as the last several weeks, Trump has broached the idea of firing Jeff Sessions several times, according to multiple sources familiar with the conversations," CNN reported Friday.
"Each time his aides and advisers have staved off his impulse, arguing to the President that such a move could damage him politically and present further problems with special counsel Robert Mueller," CNN continues.
The report comes hours after Trump launched another Twitter attack over a statement Sessions had issued on Thursday.
"'Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations.' Jeff, this is GREAT, what everyone wants, so look into all of the corruption on the 'other side' including deleted Emails, Comey lies & leaks, Mueller conflicts, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr, FISA abuse, Christopher Steele & his phony and corrupt Dossier, the Clinton Foundation, illegal surveillance of Trump Campaign, Russian collusion by Dems - and so much more," Trump wrote on Twitter.
"Open up the papers & documents without redaction?" Trump added. "Come on Jeff, you can do it, the country is waiting!"
And in an interview with 'Fox & Friends' that aired Thursday morning, Trump slammed Sessions' decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation. "Jeff Sessions recused himself, which he shouldn't have done or he should have told me," Trump said. "He took the job and then said, 'I'm going to recuse myself.' I said, 'what kind of a man is this?' He was on the campaign. He knows there was no collusion."
