2분기 해외서 카드로 5조원 긁었다…출국자 줄어 6분기 만에 감소

South Koreans swiped their plastic less while overseas in the second quarter of this year, the first drop in six quarters.
Card spending here by foreigners, meanwhile, increased.
Data from the BOK shows Koreans spent a combined 4-point-7-billion U.S. dollars overseas during that period with their credit and debit cards.
That's eight-percent lower than the first quarter when the figures hit an all-time high of more than five-billion dollars.
The central bank attributes the decline to the number of outbound travelers falling to fewer than 6-point-9-million in Q2,... a drop of more than 7 percent.
In contrast, card spending by foreigners in the nation increased by nearly 15 percent... to around 2-point-4-billion dollars... mainly due to the rising number of tourists from China and Southeast Asia.
